What we make

Six categories of component,
one production floor.

Send a drawing in DXF, STEP, or PDF. We quote the part — not a vague "project." Lead times below are from confirmed order to dispatched pallet.

01 · panels
Worktops & edge-glued panels
Single-layer solid wood up to 2400 × 800 mm. Thickness 18–60 mm. Joined with PVA D3 or D4. Finger-jointed or full-stave.
02 · frames
Frame parts
Legs, aprons, stretchers, rails. Square, tapered, turned, or shaped on 5-axis CNC. M&T or domino-ready.
03 · turned
Turned & shaped parts
Dowels, spindles, knobs, handles, decorative caps. CNC-turned to ±0.2 mm. Custom profile from sketch.
04 · bent
Bent & laminated parts
Steam-bent or 3–9-ply lamination. Beech, ash, oak. Radii from 80 mm. Mould tooling on us above 200 units.
05 · carcass
Carcass & flat-pack assemblies
CNC-machined for dowel, cam-lock, or domino. Edge-banded ABS or solid lipping. Ships pre-drilled with fittings — your fitter assembles in minutes.
06 · bespoke
Anything else, drawn to your CAD
If it's wood and it fits on a 2400 × 1250 mm bed — we'll quote it. Send a DXF and the smallest batch size you need.

Send a DXF and we send back a unit price by species, by batch size, by Incoterm. No "from" ranges. A real number, signed by the engineer who'll run the job.

Nothing
outsourced.

CNC, edge-gluing, bending, sanding, finishing, assembly and QC all happen on the same floor. The person who cuts your tenon is the person who'll glue it.

Paperwork
on the pallet.

FSC chain-of-custody, ISPM-15 stamp, packing list and QC sheet ship inside an envelope on the top pallet. PDFs go to your customs broker the day we dispatch.

We are not the cheapest wood shop in Ukraine. We are the one that answers the phone on Saturday.

Capabilities

Eight operations in-house.

Every part stays under one roof from rough timber to finished component. Send a drawing — we'll quote which of these the part needs.

CNC machining

Cutting, routing, drilling and pocketing from your DXF or STEP file. Flat and 3D parts.

Edge gluing

Solid-wood panels built up from staves — finger-jointed or full-stave, book-matched on request.

Bending & lamination

Steam-bent solid wood or multi-ply lamination over a mould. Curved parts that hold their shape.

Sanding

Wide-belt calibration for flat parts, profile and hand-sanding for shaped or bent components.

Finishing

Raw & sanded, hardwax oil, stain, or lacquer. Pantone or NCS colour-match on request.

Hardware & assembly

We pre-drill for your fittings and can install hardware, ship sub-assemblies or full KD packs.

Quality control

Dimensional and moisture checks at rough, finish and pack. Signed QC sheet on every pallet.

EU pallet logistics

Heat-treated EUR pallets, corner protection and shrink wrap. EXW Ivano-Frankivsk or DAP your door.

All hardwoods are FSC-certified, kiln-dried, and rough-graded before machining. We don't quote on logs we can't trace.

Tables, chairs, panels. Hard, open grain, ages golden.
Ash
Fraxinus excelsior
Frames, bent parts, sport handles. Elastic, light, prominent grain.
Birch
Betula pendula
Plywood, light frames, Nordic interiors. Tight grain, pale.
Beech
Fagus sylvatica
Steam-bent chair backs, dowels, school furniture. Strong, takes stain.
Walnut
Juglans regia
Premium tabletops, drawer fronts. Rich, stable, dark.
Elm
Ulmus glabra
Interesting figure, takes oil beautifully. Stair treads, table tops.

Surface finish

Four standard finishes,
colour-matched on request.

Hardwax oil is our default — it ages, it can be repaired locally, and it doesn't crack at the joint. Send a Pantone or NCS code and we'll spray a sample within 3 working days.

Raw, sanded wood finish

P180 → P240 finish, ready for your in-house treatment. Most common for retail kit furniture.
Hardwax oil finish on oak

2-coat Osmo-grade penetrating oil. Repairable on site, low-VOC, EN 71-3.
Stained wood finish

Water-based pigment + clear topcoat. Pantone or NCS match within 2 ΔE.
Matte lacquer finish

2K water-based, 20 GU sheen. Sealed for kitchens, contract use.

A small wood shop
on the edge of the Carpathians.

PLAI is a wood-component manufactory in Ivano-Frankivsk, in western Ukraine. We make furniture parts for brands across Europe — small batches, with the tolerances of a large factory and the responsiveness of a local shop.

We work in oak, ash, birch, beech, walnut and elm. We won't quote on a log we can't trace, we won't ship a pallet without paperwork, and we won't promise a date we don't believe.
